All this week, Carson Daly has been having bands perform from concert venues, and instead of promoting said group's new album, his show has been playing the band's older songs. On April 1, Cold War Kids were the musical guest, and the video of the band performing was of Robbers & Cowards standout, "Hang Me Up to Dry." The song's groove is still crushing, and the band has morphed into a pretty good live band.
Still, though, what a weird gimmick. "Hey Cold War Kids, would you like to be on Carson Daly? We only want you to play an old song though. You're okay with it? Cool."

I'm actually loving this new format of Carson Daly where the focus is on the music. His monologue and other attempts at comedy were beyond intolerable. Dare I say it, highlighting acts like this make Carson Daly worth watching.
