Cold Specks: "Reeling The Liars In" (Swans Cover)

New Mute artist Cold Specks, the nom de plume used by Canadian singer Al Spx, is set to release her debut full-length record I Predict a Graceful Expulsion on May 22. While we bask in the wonder of that album title, Cold Specks has released another curio unto the world, in the form of a cover of Swans’ “Reeling the Liars In,” originally from 2010’s My Father Will Guide Me Up A Rope To The Sky. This version gets a little more gospel-y than Michael Gira’s original, but it still unfolds at the same funeral pace before building to something far more accesible than anything in the Swans catalog. This is another Record Store Day release, as part of an EP titled Dancing Coins due for release on Saturday. Check out “Reeling the Liars In” below. [via The Quietus]
