Cloud Nothings' Dylan Baldi has a Bob Pollard-esque gift for shoe horning in an album's worth of hooks into one two-minute blast of lo-fi pop-punk, but on "For No Reason" the 20 year old slows things down for a change, fronting a ramshackle acoustic shuffle that gives the rest of his band a moment to catch their breath. The whole thing has a very "good times on the road" vibe to it, which seems approrpiate given "For No Reason" comes off a split 7" commemorating Cloud Nothings' recently wrapped tour with Toro Y Moi.
