The members of Clinic have finally made a record that doesn’t sound like Clinic. After years of mining the same territory, the band has branched out to record this cover of Moondog’s “Oboe Round.” Moondog was a legendary figure who honed his singular aesthetic on the streets of New York, subsequently influencing a broad range of musicians.

Clinic’s take on “Oboe Round” is sparse and echoy, and appears to feature some multi-tracked Stylophone. The Stylophone rose to popularity in the U.K. when it was endorsed by Australian musician/painter/TV host Rolf Harris, and Clinic pay warm tribute to him as this video draws to a close.
