Clinic: "I'm Aware" (Acoustic Version) (Streaming)
We’ve already heard “I’m Aware” from Clinic’s upcoming sixth album Bubblegum, which hints that a change of direction may be on the horizon for the notoriously static Liverpudlian four-piece. Now, here comes another chance to hear a different side to the band, with this acoustic reworking of the track.
This version sounds even better than the original recording, with tiny slivers of shivering noise, carefully plucked acoustic guitars, and swooping strings providing a sumptuous backing to Ade Blackburn’s notoriously impenetrable vocals. Expect great things when Bubblegum surfaces on Domino on Sept. 21.
