Christina Aguilera’s Bionic had a distinctly mixed reception—it even received the dubious honor of registering the largest single week decline in sales for a number one album in U.K. chart history. So she wisely ignored that record on Jay Leno’s show last night (Nov. 17) and instead performed this version of “Bound to You” from the Burlesque soundtrack, which is a marked shift away from the modern production Tricky Stewart, Le Tigre, and others foisted upon her on Bionic. In fact, Burlesque is likely to appeal to a much older set of fans, who will doubtless be wowed by Aguilera’s voice, which positively soars here.
