Anyone hoping to hear the tougher, grungier side of Chris Cornell is going to have to wait a lil' bit. Dude's apparently gearing up to drop a live album, Songbook, that features just his vocals and his acoustic guitar. That's it. I know, you want a Soundgarden reunion album, but you'll have to be patient. The 16-track effort features material both old and new along with some covers, including one of John Lennon's "Imagine."
In the case of this post, though, Cornell's performing a previously unheard track called "Cleaning My Gun." It's a depressing tune with an equally depressing introduction, as he explains that the track is about a man contemplating suicide after his wife left him. Stream it below. Songbook drops Nov. 21.
