Chris Carter: "Moonlight" (Oneohtrix Point Never Remix)

Daniel Lopatin is upping his presence ahead of the release of the Oneothrix Point Never album Replica in November. Yesterday we got to hear the title track from that record, and now comes a remix he’s undertaken for former Throbbing Gristle member Chris Carter. The original version of “Moonlight” surfaced in 1985, and is being reissued by Optimo as part of a series of Carter re-releases that includes the 1980 album The Spaces Between. This OPN remix of the song is all harsh metallic shapes that gradually break apart into something more melodic as the track continues, ultimately trailing off into strands of electronic prettiness that are distinctly at odds with the bulk of it.
