Fresh off the release of his succinct but decidedly underwhelming and awkwardly titled mixtape Enemy of the State: A Love Story (which includes metaphors about nuclear weapons, melodramatic Auto-Tuned singing, and plenty of obnoxious flows), Lupe Fiasco has teamed up with whiny-voiced scapegoat Chris Brown for this little gem, "Girlfriend." It is, quite simply, a grating exercise in synth abuse that wouldn't have been caught dead on Food & Liquor or The Cool.
