The new !!! album Strange Weather, Isn’t It? Is due for release in August, causing more confusion for spellchecks and people new to the band who don’t know how to pronounce their name (they tend to prefer “chk chk chk”). To tease us about the content of the record, the band has released this video for “AM/FM.”
The clip was directed by the members of Black Dice, and mirrors the kind of colorful splurges often splattered across that band’s album covers. Not much has changed in the world of !!!—they’re still enamored with the post-punk-meets-funk sound, although this time it’s been executed with a more commercial sheen, which suggests a broadening of the group’s audience may be about to occur.
