Chip Tha Ripper: "You Gotta Name" F. Mikey Rocks
More or less, Cleveland's Chip Tha Ripper spent the majority of his recent effort, Gift Raps, spitting laid-back, heavily weeded rhymes over booming production from Chuck Inglish. It was a highly successful formula and one that led to one of the year's most underrated free projects. This latest Chip joint, "You Gotta Name," stems from the studio sessions for Gift Raps but, understandably, didn't make the cut. While it's a fun and quite different track from the stoned MC and Mikey Rocks, you'll understand why it wouldn't have fit in on the release once you hear it. We're still diggin' it, though.
