Chip Tha Ripper: 'Gift Raps' (Mixtape)
Work on this collaborative "mixtape" between Chip Tha Ripper and Chuck Inglish, of the Cool Kids, began last summer. I'm willing to bet it started after the guys appeared on that Freddie Gibbs track, "Oil Money," which also probably led to the creation of Pulled Over By The Cops. Anyway, Inglish provided Chip with essentially an album's worth of production here as Gift Raps is 13 tracks deep and not really your typical mixtape. And if all the cuts are at least as good as "Light One Up," we might be hearing one of the year's best free projects thus far.
