Cheap Trick dipped into their back catelog on Conan O’Brien’s show last night (Jan. 13) to perform a version of “Dream Police” from their 1979 album of the same name. This is partly to promote a string of dates the band is playing, which Conan gives more details of in his intro. But the main thing here is the band sounds surprisingly fresh and vital, even dropping the host’s name into the lyrics and generally acting like they’re at least 20 years younger than they actually are. Salut, Cheap Trick.
