Charlotte Gainsbourg: "Trick Pony" (Live on Letterman) (Video)

Charlotte Gainsbourg has been in New York City to promote her IRM album, and she capped a few live performances with a turn on David Letterman’s show on Friday (Jan. 22). She was joined by a mysterious figure wearing a werewolf mask and playing percussion for the show—presumably it wasn’t IRM producer Beck, who was busy giving Conan O’Brien a send-off in California.

“Trick Pony” gives a perfect demonstration of Gainsbourg’s ghostly vocals, which possibly turned out that way due to the fact that the album was partly recorded just after she finished the harrowing shoot for Lars Von Trier’s Antichrist. That’s enough to make anyone hire a guy in a werewolf costume.
