Charlotte Gainsbourg

"Heaven Can Wait" f. Beck (Video)

Average Rating: 4.50

"Heaven Can Wait," the first single from Charlotte Gainsbourg and Beck's upcoming album IRM, due January 26, now comes equipped with a video. And boy, is it insanely out-there in a way that's even unusual for the daughter of Serge Gainsbourg and the man who once sang, "Milk the kids, Polaroid cupcake, take it to the limit, new wave biscuit."

The clip can best be explained as a series of moments, each seemingly set in reality but featuring out-of-place details. So: what appears to be a normal scene of a cop chasing a criminal is thrown off track by the criminal being dressed as Sponge Bob Square Pants. Understand? No?

Don't worry. The exquisite corpse of a video is better seen than explained, so check it out, and make sure you have some headache medicine at arms reach. [Spinner]

I've watched this a few times now, and I think the image of the guy running away from the axe will be forever stuck in my brain.

Delightful. Like "Loser" in visual form.
