On one hand, Charles Hamilton is the most savvy rapper out right now--he attaches himself to people more famous than him, including Jay-Z and his "D.O.A.," which he has just recorded a freestyle over, and J. Dilla, who he curiously listed as "executive producer" on a recent mixtape eventhough Dilla was dead before Hamilton even started rapping. Plus he uses the Internet in a way few rappers do.
But on the other hand, he's of the quantity over quality school. This "D.O.A." freestyle is pretty weak: it's maxed out like he just recorded it off the radio, and his rhymes are stilted to try to roll at the same pace as Jay-Z's flow, but they just sound lazy and tired.
Charles, just getting a freestlye out over a popular beat isn't enough; try one-upping the original instead of just piggy-backing on its success. Which wouldn't have really been that hard, since "D.O.A." isn't that great of a track anyway, [NahRight]
i cant read rap news sites anymore there all biased and lean towards one side. and this website is the worst out of all of them whoever wrote this article is an idiot.
