Charles Bradley: "Everyday Is Christmas (When I'm Loving You)"
Those who know the sweet, retro-soul sounds of Daptone Records are most likely familiar with Mr. Charles Bradley. As the story goes, the 67 year-old soul-singer was discovered in a small club in Harlem by Daptone co-founder Thomas Brenneck. Since then, Bradley has releases a series of singles that sound like they are straight out of a Stax vault that has been pristinely kept since 1965. Bradley is the real deal.
If you remain skeptical (still bummed off Al Green's not-so-awesome return?), check out Daptone's holiday card featuring the new track "Every Day is Christmas (When I'm Loving You)" from Charles Bradley. For those of us who are a humbug about holiday music, this track will undoubtedly put you in the spirit, even if its just for three or four minutes.
