Cee-Lo Green: "You Promised Me Love"
For anyone hoping that this new Cee-Lo Green joint is either similar to his work as part of Gnarls Barkley or Goodie Mob, move along. If you happened to have loved The Lady Killer, then "You Promised Me Love" should be right up your alley. To be fair, portions of the verses sound like his Gnarls stuff vocally, but the production is far too grandiose and, at times, Euro trash-y to fit in with Danger Mouse's style. That's not to say "You Promised Me Love" is bad, though it's not exceptional, either. It's radio fodder for sure and hey, I guess that's OK until Goodie Mob finally drops their reunion album.
