Cee-Lo Green: "Georgia"
It's been six years since Cee-Lo Green was strictly on the solo tip as he's been playing around with Danger Mouse for the last four years or so. But it appears the soul machine is back to go it alone with The Lady Killer, his third proper album. While radio rips of album cuts have floated around, this is the first official leak we are hearing. And it's a pretty damn good one at that.
"Georgia" features the crooner belting out an absolutely gigantic hook and throwing out odes to his home state across a subdued, jazzy backdrop. The only issue I'm hearing is that this song could easily fit in on one of his records as part of Gnarls Barkley. That's not necessarily a negative considering how solid those two albums are, but I was hoping for a bit of a departure from Cee-Lo going solo again.
