The first single from Cee-Lo's upcoming album The Lady Killer was "Fuck You," a neo-soul explosion with as much genuine pathos and heartbreak as gratuitous use of the f-word. The latest track is "Bright Lights, Bigger City," which jumps forward a decade, sounding like the best 80s Michael Jackson song never recorded, with neon gloss synths and a slithery groove that you could moonwalk over all night. Not to mention it practically steals the bass line to "Billie Jean." Even despite that obvious homage, its still Cee-Lo through and through, and that's nothing but a good thing. The Lady Killers drops Nov. 9. [Fader]
