Cat Power: "Amazing Grace" (Stream)

It's amazing that Cat Power hadn't recorded "Amazing Grace" until the Dessner brothers approached her and the Dirty Delta Blues to do a version for the Dark Was The Night compilation, since her voice fits the song's exultations like a glove. But that doesn't mean Cat Power did a resolutely faithful version--she sings the lines in and out of the pocket, and adds some ad-libs near the end (like "you know the rest").
