“Castles In The Snow” (Video)

Twin Shadow’s excellent debut album, Forget, is still streaming in full over here, and the Brooklyn transplant (by way of Florida and the Dominican Republic) has now produced this video for “Castles in the Snow” to promote the record. These are celebratory times for George Lewis Jr. who essentially is Twin Shadow, as he has just signed a deal with 4AD outside of North America.

“Castles in the Snow” is driven by a deeply melancholy undertow, with Lewis letting his falsetto soar over a pop-electro backing and bright guitar lines somewhat reminiscent of Scritti Politti during their lurch at the mainstream in the mid ‘80s. This retro New York themed clip plays out like a cross between Krush Groove and The Warriors, making a fitting accompaniment to the song.
