Bologna, Italy-by-way-of-Ottawa, Canada’s Jonathan Clancy has a clear knack for crafting dream-pop tunes under the guise of His Clancyness. At least, that’s most certainly the case on his latest single, “Carve a Peach,” a track that sounds like it was recorded in a bedroom located in the middle of the ocean.
And it’s not that it’s a particularly lonesome tune, though there’s plenty of longing in the vocals. Rather, its warm swashes of guitar and keys paired up with Clancy’s reverbed vocals carry a summery, breezy vibe. You can stream “Carve a Peach” below. It’s part of a limited split 7″ single between His Clancyness and Shimmering Stars that’s due out Oct. 31 via Splendour.
