Half-Norwegian, half-Mexican chanteuse, songwriter and guitarist Carmen Villain (née Hillestad) has just followed her latest single "Quietly" with a perfectly fitting video. Directed by Adina Fohlin, the clip shows artist Linnea Martinsson performing a supple, interprative Tai Chi dance. Martinsson's gentle but deliberate movements and the video's minimal blue background are in perfect tune with the reserved, brittle piece of amplified folk "Quietly" is.
Mixed by Helge Sten of Norwegian avant-garde icons Supersilent, "Quietly" is out now as a 7", but will also be part of Villain's sophomore LP (out later this year).
