Manchester’s Alex Coulton has been bouncing around the club scene overseas for a few years now, and dude is still yet to reach two decades. He’s got a fully formed aesthetic: deep, menaching bass grooves with scatterbrained percussion, and brooding melodies laying primed underneath multiple surface layers. These two tracks, “Candy Flip” and “Brooklyn,” come from a 7-inch that Coulton dropped earlier in the month via Idle Hands, but they haven’t seen much light, both in terms of buzz and in terms of sonics.
