“Candy Flip” / “Brooklyn”

Manchester’s Alex Coulton has been bouncing around the club scene overseas for a few years now, and dude is still yet to reach two decades. He’s got a fully formed aesthetic: deep, menaching bass grooves with scatterbrained percussion, and brooding melodies laying primed underneath multiple surface layers. These two tracks, “Candy Flip” and “Brooklyn,” come from a 7-inch that Coulton dropped earlier in the month via Idle Hands, but they haven’t seen much light, both in terms of buzz and in terms of sonics. Each short burst of black light flow is worth checking out, which you can do below. [FACT]
