Viennese street performance blog They Shoot Music recently got Scottish maudlin poppers Camera Obscura to perform their excellent "French Navy" and "Honey in the Sun" acoustic while they were in town. "French Navy," which is stripped down to vocals, a shaker, trumpet and guitar, is above, and "Honey in the Sun" performed by some trees, is below. [Pitchfork]
Whoa, that's fantastic. (There's some foolio musicians down at the HB pier that should watch...so they'll know how it's done.) I wonder how they got such good sound; I didn't see anything miked up or anything. Also, Scot accents = cool.
Good stuff. This album kind of slipped through the cracks for me. I'll have to pull it back out.
