"Funeral Singers" (Video)

Average Rating: 8.00

Califone's recently released All My Friends are Funeral Singers is a companion piece to a film that lead singer Tim Rutili wrote and directed. "Funeral Singers" is something of the album's title track, and this new music video isn't part of the film, it's a new thing that features the band in an old house, grinding out the track. In short, these Chicagoans stay mad busy. Somehow, a simple performance video nearly out-haunts the song. [Pitchfork]

Perfect video for a fantastic band. They are so subtle, but when it hits you, it hits you.....

I think I musta had Califone mixed up with Iron & Wine, or something. Anyway, yeah, tis good. Alevy, can you recommend a good Califone starting point?

I like Califone, but I also like art that doesn't explain itself. Have you heard Quicksand/Cradlesnakes?

Heron King Blues is awesome. But I'd go all the way back to Red Red Meat's Bunny Gets Paid. Feels very Califone-ish.
