Sometime between their first album and their sophomore album being released yesterday, Cage the Elephant became pretty huge; I had two co-workers tell me yesterday that Thank You Happy Birthday is the only album they care about coming out in 2011. How did that happen? Probably because they're a version of the garage rock bands from the early 2000s that mix just enough Nirvana in to appeal to mainstream rock radio. Case in point: This performance of "Shake Me Down" on Letterman last night. This is probably huge on that rock radio station in your town. You know the one. The one with the logo that is black and neon green? And with a name like Razor. Though this isn't as stomping as "Ain't No Rest For The Wicked," this will probably be pretty big.
