Soundgarden is touring, M83 is claiming his new album is inspired by Smashing Pumpkins, and tributes to Nirvana’s Nevermind on its 20th anniversary are pouring in. Yes, grunge is back, and so is Bush, the unlikely bunch of Brits who capitalized on that sound back in the day and suddenly found favor in the U.S. This appearance on Jimmy Fallon’s show last night (July 21) suggests the band hasn’t changed at all, with “The Sound of Winter” driven by an empty-but-anthemic chorus and screaming guitars. The group also performed a version of “Machinehead,” which you can see below.
