On the Feb. 21 edition of the BBC's 1Xtra Benji B show, two new tracks from Burial were premiered by Kode9, the founder of the Hyperdub label. The two untitled tracks are indeed more sparse than Burial's previous work, which relied heavily on the use of samples and vocal loops, but doesn't stray too far from his notable atmospheric dubstep sound. Nonetheless it will probably please anyone who was a fan of his 2007 album, Untrue. It's too early to tell if this will be the new direction Burial takes since Kode9 hints that the tracks might not even see the light of day, but they do provide a promising appetizer.
