Burial: "Ashtray Wasp" (Radio Rip)
We already know that Burial has a new EP titled Kindred due on Hyperdub soon, which partially debuted on Scratcha DVA’s Rinse FM show in the U.K. last night. Even the host sounds over-awed that he’s getting to premier the song “Ashtray Wasp” in this radio rip of the track, although this is only a portion of the song, as Hyperdub was no doubt aware that this would immediately surface online. The full version will apparently stretch to eight minutes, but you can hear some of it below, which is full of lightly pitch-shifted vocals and a scratchy ambience. It’s got that level of detail you’d expect from Burial’s productions, plus all the moody atmospherics that quickly became his primary fascination. No release date is set for Kindred yet, but expect it some time early in 2012. [via FACT]
