Bubblegum Trash

California-based sludgepop duo Crocodiles released their third full-length album, Endless Flowers, earlier this year. In advance of the group’s upcoming European tour, Crocodiles will package “Bubblegum Trash,” a cut off Endless Flowers, as a single scheduled for release on Nov. 26.

Featuring Dum Dum Girls’ lead singer Dee Dee on backing vocals — the frontwoman is married to Crocodiles’ Brandon Welchez — “Bubblegum Trash” wraps a spritely guitar melody in a thick blanket of fuzz and feedback. There’s a bit of playful seduction at work here, too, with Welchez slyly crooning suggestive tidbits like, “You can suck me like a bubble pop” with a deliberate nonchalance.

Crocodiles is currently in the middle of a brief US tour, and will head across the pond to the UK and Europe later this year. Listen to “Bubblegum Trash” and check out the band’s upcoming tour dates below.
