I know you know what I'm about to do here, so let's do this: For a song called "Grenade," this new Bruno Mars single is remarkably non explosive. In fact, this is about as exciting as watching one of those self-playing pianos play in a hotel lobby. Which is to say, all the motions are here, but the soul is not here.
That said, the video is pretty beautiful, I guess, though I don't really understand the symbolism of pulling a piano around. Is Mars' wimpy music a burden he must bear forever? He should have to carry around a huge metaphor for his life forever, probably. I just know that teenage girls probably love the hell out of this. And also, frownfaces to train-based suicides.

Dude has got a really nice emotive quality to his voice that has made me smile once or twice, but a lot of his stuff is very much hit or miss. This is a miss for me.
