Bruce Springsteen

Life Itself (Video)

This video for "Life Itself" prominently features some studio footage of the Boss and his E Street Band recording in the studio, interspersed with shots of folks looking really pensive and American, birds flying, passing trees, the whole elder statesman of rock n' roll coming to terms with impermanence deal. This is all complemented by a nice, consistent Vh1 feel, good for flipping through channels at three in the morning. You can get the song for free at Amazon, and Springsteen's latest, Working on a Dream will be out Jan. 27. [Stereogum]

I wonder if Bruce or Nils Lofgren (or Steve Van Zandt) played those lead guitar parts that creep up around the 1:50 mark. The leads reference both Roger McGuinn and George Harrison circa 1966 if I'm not mistaken. Good to see the Boss returning to sonic experiments.
