Update: Britney Spears continued her battle to stay relevant (a battle I fear she might always win based on her ubiquity of her brand, regardless of her output's quality) today by dropping "3," the new track that's going to appear on Britney's new greatest hits collections. Apparently, it is a track about wanting to have sex with three people, but mostly it seems to be a song about the love of counting. Maybe Britney's been watching a lot of Sesame Street with Sean and Jayden, or that School House Rock sketch where they talk about how three is a magic number. It's clearly not magic enough, because "3" is still a tepid attempt at sexual edginess that's so inane that it ranks below "I Kissed a Girl," which is shameful.
