British Sea Power: "Zeus" (Streaming)
British Sea Power’s popularity has slipped somewhat in their native U.K., which is a shame because they’ve only become more interesting and idiosyncratic as their career has progressed. There’s a new EP out by them titled Zeus, and judging from this title track it’s high time this band were given the credit they deserve (and a North American tour wouldn’t go amiss, either).
“Zeus” is the kind of propulsive rock track the members of British Sea Power have returned to often throughout their careers, with singer Yan singing in his half-whispered voice and the Bunnymen-style expansive guitar sound dominating the mix. MBV has an MP3 available to download for free, but physical and digital copies will also be available come October 5.
