Bright Eyes: "We're Going To Be Friends" (White Stripes Cover)
Speaking of Jack White: As a part of a charity drive to help kids learn more about the arts, Gift Horse Project and Manimal Vinyl are releasing a compilation called Cool for School: For the Benefit of the Lunchbox Fund, a comp that finds bands covering kid-friendly songs. On the comp, Bright Eyes cover "We're Going to Be Friends" by the White Stripes, and somehow make it even more kid friendly, with its lullaby synths and mellow tones. The original is pretty wimpy, but this is even more so. Still though, okay cover, good cause.
