Brian Eno: “Emerald and Stone” (Stream)

On Nov. 2 (Nov. 15 in the U.K.), new age/ambient music pioneer Brian Eno will drop his new album Small Craft on a Milk Sea on Warp Records, an independent British label founded in the 1980s and known for pushing boundaries in electronic music.

You don't have to wait until then to hear what the former Roxy Music member is up to, though. The Fader is offering a taste of the new release by streaming the song "Emerald and Stone." It's a tranquil piece that looks back to Eno's Music for Airports phase, except it sounds more structured musically. The album finds Eno collaborating with electronica musician Jon Hopkins as well as guitarist Leo Abrahams. We're still waiting for him to collaborate with Jimmy Eat World and record as Brian Emo (sorry, couldn't resist!).

Pretty excited about the new record - the whole thing is an amazing trip from someone who pretty much created ambient music!
