No Age has already featured heavily on the Pitchfork.tv clips from this year’s ATP Festival in upstate New York, and here they make their best contribution so far. They team up with Bradford Cox and filmmaker Jim Jarmusch in a cramped hotel room to perform a version of Neil Young’s “Cortez the Killer.”
It’s surprisingly impressive for a performance that was presumably put together at the last minute. When was the last time Jarmusch played with a band? It’s been a while since he performed with John Lurie in the Del-Byzanteens (see below), but he does a great job of complementing Cox’s vocals on this clip.
