Boris: "Riot Sugar"

As previously reported, Japanese metal explorers Boris have two albums coming out this year on May 24 via Sargent House (the previous release date of April 26 was changed due to the earthquake and tsunami in Japan). You've already heard "Hope," which comes from the Wata-led Attention: Please. Today, we bring you "Riot Sugar," from the other album dropping that day, Heavy Rocks (which, to point out again, is the second album Boris has released with that title). The track definitely accomplishes its goal of characterizing Heavy Rocks as the more brutal album of the pair, riding on a series of chugging riffs, seething vocal performances, and some typically great lead parts from Wata. The Cult's Ian Astbury shows up again to provide backup vocals. As with "Hope," "Riot Sugar" presents a more straightforward version of the trio, but is no less attention-grabbing.
