Will Oldham has developed a fondness for revisiting his old material, even reworking an entire album’s worth of songs on Sings Greatest Palace Music. Now, he’s performed the same trick again, issuing a six-song EP titled Now Here’s My Plan that offers alternate versions of tracks from the Bonnie “Prince” Billy catalog. Among those is “I See a Darkness,” which may be his most famous song thanks to the touching cover Johnny Cash performed of it. Oldham is so into this new version that he’s shot a video for it, which is directed by Ben Berman and features the singer in an uncharacteristically buoyant mood. Check it out over at the New York Times and listen to the original version of the track below.
