On Australia's Triple J radio, Bon Iver's Justin Vernon tried his hand at a cover of Feist's "The Park." It's not a surprising choice for Vernon, considering the original's threadbare instrumentation and lilting vocals. But what is surprising is how solid his rendition sounds. His cover is a faithful one, but his emotive falsetto once again carries the day. Turns out Vernon can just plain capture that lonesome sound. And while his version doesn't quite trump the beauty of Feist's version, his creakier take can stand alongside the original as a sound both haunting and honest. [Stereogum]
