Bon Iver: "With God On Our Side" (Live Bob Dylan Cover)
It seems like we hear a new live Bon Iver cover every few weeks. Last month, Justin Vernon and the boys ran through a great take on Don Williams' "If Hollywood Don't Need You (Honey I Still Do)." And now we have stumbled upon another fine cover that stems from Bon Iver's Portland gig on Sept. 24. They apparently worked a country-tinged version of Bob Dylan's "With God On Our Side" into their set. As Consequence of Sound points out, this cover sounds much more like the "With God On Our Side" we heard on Dylan's MTV Unplugged and less like the O.G. on Times They Are A-Changin'. It's fantastic either way, thought, and it makes me wonder when Bon Iver will decide to put out a covers record.
