Bon Iver

"Blood Bank" & "Lovin's For Fools ft. Sarah Siskind" (Videos)

Bon Iver has quickly become one of this year's greatest success stories. Justin Vernon has created one of the most enduring songwriting efforts of 2008, and continues to capture acclaim as the year goes on. So the question is, can the next batch be just as good? I had the chance to see the band Monday night in Nashville -- and the answer is yes. While this video of the new track "Blood Bank" doesn't quite do seeing it in flesh justice, it shows that the next record might be headed in a more band-oriented direction. Justin got all Neil Young on us Monday night, and there is evidence in the video here. [Stereogum]

Also on Monday night, the band performed a song written by Sarah Siskind they have been playing throughout their tour, "Lovin's for Fools" -- and this time they brought out Nashville native, Siskind herself. They stepped away from the mic for a near-acapella rendition of the song -- and this was by far the quietest i'd ever seen the Exit/In with a packed house.
