B.o.B: "Lonely People" (Video)
Not many rappers would have the audacity to sample the Beatles, none the less "Eleanor Rigby," but then turn the sample into a scathing critique of bar culture. But that's where B.o.B. comes in, appropriating the Beatles standard into a song about people getting drunk, sleeping around indiscriminantly, and the emptiness of that culture. This song could have turned into an unmitigated disaster (I mean, seriously, sampling the Beatles!), but it turned out really great.
"Lonely People" is slated for inclusion on B.o.B.'s full length debut, due out this year. [Nahright]

i think kanye flipped this sample for a track on kweli's "beautiful struggle mixtape", and the song tackled pretty much the same subject matter.
but it would be pretty awesome if this song actually gets cleared and appears on b.o.b.'s album. it's pretty great, as well.
