If you didn’t get to land a copy of Blur’s “Fool’s Day” on Record Store Day, the Internet has unsurprisingly come to your rescue. The band released a limited edition 7-inch single of the song to aid the event, and it proved to be one of the most sought after items on the day—especially as it was the group’s first recording in seven years.
On first listen, “Fool’s Day” might not be classic Blur, but it is the sound of the band members finding their feet again, with Damon Albarn dropping in lyrics about Ladbroke Grove, Woolworths, the Westway and other British ephemera, just as you’d expect. Now can we have some North American tour dates please?
