Blue Velvet (Lindstrøm Remix)

People love remixing Lana Del Rey songs. More than they actually love Lana Del Rey. What’s the deal? Is it because her vacant, detached voice is like a blank canvas for sound engineers? Is it because a general Google search of ‘Lana Del Rey’ produces a billion results and they want to ride that money train? Well, whatever the motivation, here’s another LDR remix–this time Norwegian producer Lindstrøm takes that 30-second clip of “Blue Velvet” (from Del Rey’s H&M campaign) and somehow transforms it into a 9 minute convulsion-inducing nu-disco trance. Stripped of 60s pop gold and not really “Lynchian” either, the song sounds like an eerie call from the future–the sexy future, of course.
