“Blue Jeans” (RAC Remix)

Yeah, that’s right, another Lana Del Rey remix. Please, don’t run/click away, though. This one, like the previous Chad Valley rework of  “Born to Die,” isn’t half bad. Actually, this is definitely more good than bad. André Allen Anjos of RAC–the Remix Artist Collective–dices “Blue Jeans” up with some driving synths and sturdy-but-groovy drums.

His remix doesn’t overcomplicate things and creates a simple, solid club track with something of a disco edge. It’s relatively upbeat when compared to Del Rey’s original, and it retains a sense of gravity about it that provides an interesting contrast to things like fun and dancing. Above, see the “Blue Jeans” single artwork, which I think conveys a similar feeling. Below, check out Anjos’ remix. [Hypetrak]
