Blu: 'The Norman Rockwell Beat Tape' (Beat Tape)
When Blu isn't being his typically elusive self as an MC, he acts the same way while wearing a different hat. As his fans know, the California hermit is also a producer. And when he's not in the booth but instead chopping up samples and loops, he goes by the name of Godlee Barnes. Yeah, hip-hop acts and their aliases/alter egos right?
Anyway, late last night he threw on his producer cap and uploaded a brand-new (mostly) instrumental project seemingly out of nowhere. Dubbed The Norman Rockwell Beat Tape, it features 11 dusty tracks produced by Barnes. It's not all about the beats, though, as Blu spits on "Killafornia Freestyle" while frequent collaborator CoSS stops by to rap on "In the Clear." It's all really raw, but it's also pretty dope.
