Los Angeles alt. rockers Silversun Pickups brought Neck of the Woods to David Letterman’s show last night, with the group delivering “Bloody Mary (Nerve Endings)” from that record. The appearance gave Letterman a chance to try out his heavily accented way of saying “Los Angeles” in the intro, but after that it was straight into the kind of emotionally charged indie rock that made Silversun Pickups’ name. It’s full of stringy falsetto cries, Brian Aubert’s helium-ized vocals and great stacks of fuzzy guitar noise. But you know this already—“Bloody Mary (Nerve Endings)” was their song of choice on Kimmel in May and the lead single from Neck of the Woods. Check out the Letterman performance below.
